He is amongst the very biggest personalities on the worldwide show-jumping scene, was the overall winner of the Longines Global Champions Tour in 2013 and 2014 and is well on his way to completing his hat-trick in the 2015 season in the “Formula 1 of equestrian sport”. 29-year-old Scott Brash (GBR) has been at the top of the Longines FEI world rankings with minimal interruptions for almost two years (December 2013 until March 2015 and now since May 2015). Previously, with victories in Aachen, Spruce Meadows and Genf, he made history by becoming the first rider to win the Rolex Grand Slam of show-jumping.
Stand-out achievements on his lengthy list of successes include a team gold medal in the London 2012 Olympic Games, team gold and individual bronze at the 2013 European Championships in Herning, victories in the five-star Grand Prix of Estoril, Monte Carlo, Aachen, Miami, Doha, Cannes and London or Monaco – and maybe one in Vienna soon in addition! 2015 will be the third year in which Brash is competing in the Longines Global Champions Tour of Vienna at the Vienna Masters (17th – 20th September 2015), where he will attempt to grab some final, valuable points ahead of the final in Doha (12th – 14th November 2015).
A victory in Vienna would enable Brash to top up his bank account as well as his points tally. In the Longines Global Champions Tour alone he has already earned over 600,000 Euro in prize money in the 2015 season, undoubtedly making him one of the highest-paid show-jumpers of our era.
Will he finally manage to lift the winner’s trophy at Vienna’s Rathausplatz this year? It will be exciting to find out!
