At the 2015 Vienna Masters (17th – 20th September) it is not only the world’s best show-jumpers who will be given access to what is arguably the finest show-jumping course in Austria – located directly in front of Vienna’s town-hall. As in previous years, the event organisers have invited seven top-class pony dressage riders, from four separate countries, to perform at the Rathausplatz in front of what will be a huge audience.
Austria’s best versus the European champion!
At just 16 years of age, she already has three championship medals in her possession! Rebecca Bell of Great Britain is amongst the most successful pony dressage riders in Europe, becoming a team gold medallist just a few weeks ago at the European pony championships in Malmö. She won bronze and silver medals with the British team in 2013 and 2014 respectively, and since then has frequently achieved high-placed finishes in international events. 2015 will be her first year competing at the Vienna Masters, where she will test herself against Austrian number one Nicola Louise Ahorner amongst others.
The fifteen-year-old Vienna native has also taken part in championships in the past, and will be looking to make her home advantage count. However, there are a few others looking to have a say in this; Daria Hohenwarter from Tirol, German talent Raphael Netz, Marie Liselott Linsenhoff, European silver-medallist Lana Raumanns and Hanna Ivan of Hungary.
The pony stars will have their first examination on Thursday at around 3pm. Sporting action is set to continue on Saturday at around 9am, with the musical freestyle then taking place on Sunday at 11am.
