Victory for Wesley Newlands in CSI2* Silver Tour final

The final of the CSI2* Silver Tour presented by Meinl has been decided. 32 participants entered the 1.30m standard jumping examination, with around half of them making it through to the 17-man jump-off to decide the overall winner. 27-year-old Canadian Wesley Newlands was able to secure the victory in the saddle of Wieminka B, daughter of Cardento. The duo performed a brilliant lap and posted an impressive time of 35.95 seconds, which not even this weekend’s double Silver Tour winner Christian Schranz (AUT/Lower Austria) was able to beat. Schranz navigated Swiss-bred gelding Whisper von Lichten CH across the finish line in 36.99 seconds, with Tess Carmichael (GBR) taking third place with Unique III (0/38.17).
