It’s just one highlight after another at the 2015 Vienna Masters! As a preliminary to the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Vienna at 18:30 this evening, the world’s best show-jumpers battled it out in the CSI5* Vienna Challenge presented by Gestüt Römerhof, with 24,500 Euro in prize money at stake. The starter list for the 1.50m event was comprised of 34 high-calibre rider-horse duos. With Longines world rankings also at stake, 15 made it through to the exciting jump-off.

It was 2013 European champion Roger Yves Bost (FRA) in the saddle of twelve-year-old stallion Pegase du Murier who ultimately came out on top. Having mastered the course in a flawless 43.28 seconds, he was congratulated by Serena Hamberg (Gestüt Römerhof) to the strains of the Marseillaise. Second placed was team gold-medal winner of the 2015 Pan-Am Games Tiffany Foster (CAN) with Brighton (0/45.21), with Alberto Zorzi of Italy taking third on AD Reflet d’Azif in 45.29 seconds.

Three Austrian riders made it to the jump-off with faultless ground circuits. In the jump-off though, Max Kühner (Tirol) on Coeur de Lion (9th place), Alpenspan team rider Gerfried Puck (Styria) on Poker Face (11th place) and his team-mate Dieter Köfler (Kärnten) on Askaban (12th place) all had to accept a drop.
